Walker-Reed has served as city clerk in St. Marys for the past 11 years.

“Deborah has shown nothing but professionalism, loyalty, and drive during her time as a municipal clerk,” said Regina Russell, president of the GMCA “We are proud to have Deborah represent the clerks as the 2023 Clerk of the Year. It is so deserving!”
 
Walker-Reed has served others with compassion and effective leadership as a clerk as well as with several community organizations.
 
“Deborah is known to think outside the box and you can count on her to research and find creative solutions for any issue.  Because of her commitment, she enhances the experience of her team, elected officials, residents, and the association,” said Russell.
 
Walker-Reed is a Georgia Certified Clerk and an International Institute of Certified Municipal Clerk.  Walker-Reed is a member of the GMCA board and leads various GMCA committees. Additionally, Walker-Reed has completed the Master Education Management Program from the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
